Edit mode
To define and change the geometric elements that define many advanced Map Tools features, you need to go to edit mode. For that, click the Trigger edit mode button in the toolbar of the Map Tools window. Alternatively, select Tools | Trigger edit mode in the menu of the window or press the following key combination: Ctrl + E.
A set of buttons is shown in the map area; these buttons let you create and edit waypoints, points, guard tours and zones.
Note: |
Only one user can use edit mode at a time. If you try to switch to edit mode while another user is editing, you get the following warning: |
Edit mode is used for working with the following:
Edit mode for zones
Zone editing is done in a separate sub-mode of the edit mode and works for one zone at a time. To switch to this mode, click the Edit mode for zones button in the edit mode button group and then click the zone you want to edit. The Edit mode for zones dialog box appears at the top of the map view, and the points of the zone become available for moving.
To move the entire zone, click inside it and drag.
Point editing works for one point at a time. To move a point, first right-click it to select it, and then click and drag it. Right-clicking the midpoint of an edge creates a new point that splits the edge in half. Use this to make your zone outline more detailed.
To apply your changes, click the Save button in the Edit mode for zones dialog box.
